Massage is one of the oldest and simplest forms of therapy available to help with tonal or whole body health. Working through a system of techniques provided to different areas of the body, massage has been shown to relieve pain, relax, stimulate and tone the body.
Massage therapy is a constantly evolving health care discipline. As more research is being provided it has been shown to break down tissue adhesions in muscles and other soft tissues after injury or surgery. It can stimulate blood circulation and assist the lymphatic system (which runs parallel to the circulatory system), improving the elimination of waste throughout the body. Massage therapy has been shown to boost the immune system in the body, allowing you to fight off illness and disease in the body more efficiently.
Although a single massage would be enjoyable, the effects of massage are cumulative and a course of massage treatments would bring the most benefits. Regular massage treatments can help prevent unnecessary strains and injuries that might otherwise occur due to excess tension and resulting structural weaknesses. Massage can stimulate the nervous system helping reduce fatigue, leaving the client with a feeling of increased energy and vigour.
At its best, massage has the potential to restore the individual to a state of well-being.
